Some rescued animals sit in shelters, boarding, rescue facilities, or foster homes for months before a single application will be received for them, only to fall through. With our Dawgs On Campus program, we strive to connect animal-loving students with rescued animals in need of extra promotion.
Dawgs On Campus Ambassadors are provided with weekly opportunities to walk or pet sit Woof On Campus fosters. We ask all of our Ambassadors to post to their social media accounts when they are pet sitting a Woof On Campus foster to help promote the animal for adoption and inspire more students to foster or become a Dawg themselves!
As a Dawg, you'll be added to our Slack channel, #dawgsoncampus, where you'll be connected to animals available for playdates or walks. You'll be asked to promote the animal you're assigned with the goal of your post reaching their furever home! One post of a smiling animal can go a long ways towards finding them a home.
Our Dawgs On Campus Application is currently open for the 2021-2022 school year.
Click the blue button to submit your application to join our Dawgs On Campus Ambassador program! If your application is approved, you will join our Slack Workspace. You will still need to complete your home check, orientation, and contract prior to pet sitting.
Click "home check submission" under the Fostering drop-down to find instructions on how to submit your Woof On Campus Home Check. This ensures that all of our animals are in a safe pet sitting environment!
After you have attended foster orientation, you will receive a copy of our Dawgs On Campus Ambassador contract. Once you've signed your contract, you're ready to sign up for pet sitting opportunities as they're sent out in Slack!
Our Dawgs On Campus Ambassador Program is currently open to all undergraduate and graduate students in the Los Angeles area. If you can't commit to fostering, Dawgs On Campus is the perfect opportunity to hang out with animals in your free time.
Each week, current fosters are sent a form to indicate the days and times they need a Dawgs On Campus pet sitter. Our Dawgs On Campus Team then compiles a schedule of available pet sitting opportunities and sends them out weekly in our #dawgsoncampus Slack channel.
Once your application has been approved and you have submitted your home check, signed your contract, and attended Foster Orientation, you can reply to any opportunity sent out in the #dawgsoncampus channel.
We ask that all of our Ambassadors add at least one post or story to their Instagram to promote the animal they are pet sitting for adoption! Please tag @woofoncampus and the rescue that animal is associated with, along with #dawgsoncampus. Try to include the animals name, age, quirks, and any content that would make them appear more adoptable!
Pet sitting times can vary from a few hours to a few days. Some fosters need help when they have class or work, others need help when they need to go on a weekend trip. There are also times we just need a dog-walker for the day!
